Monolithic polymers are suitable polymeric supports for the preparation of molecularly imprinted membranes (MIM) applied to chiral separations. Their preparation in presence of one enantiomer selenoaminoacid compound, leads to its proper enantioresolution for determination and synthesis purposes.

The main conclusion obtained from this study is that high cross flow velocity and low transmembrane pressure are recommended to recover the permeate flux of a Al2O3 ceramic membrane used in ultrafiltration of soybean oil and hexane mixture.

Mullite supports were synthesized using kaolin clay containing 83% kaolinite calcinated at 1250° C for 3.5 h. Nanoporous zeolite T membranes were successfully coated on the seeded mullite supports by hydrothermal synthesis. The best morphology and fewer voids were achieved at 393 K for 30 h.
